How to Use
MAKE TASK COMPLETION FUN
Don’t be afraid to put on upbeat music, dance, or sing, and above all, don’t forget to keep smiling!
TURN CHORES INTO AN OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT
Whenever possible, complete their tasks with them and take advantage of the time together to talk.
SET A SCHEDULE FOR TASK COMPLETION
It’s up to you to decide when chores should be done, or to give your children a timeframe during which they must complete their chores.
EXPLAIN THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD HOUSEKEEPING
It’s not always easy for our little ones to understand the importance of good housekeeping, and so it’s important to take the time to explain it to them. So make sure to teach them that chores, among other things, help you get rid of germs and bacteria, eliminate bad odors, find your things much more easily, and prevent your things from getting damaged.
DON’T EXPECT PERFECTION
After giving your children clear instructions, let them complete their chores with no expectations as to the final product. Then make sure to check the work they have done and, of course, encourage them to do better the next time!
POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT
Don’t be shy with positive reinforcement, particularly using the General Store, in order to celebrate task completion and above all to foster a positive attitude toward chores.
NEW LEVEL, NEW PRIVILEGES
When your child progresses to the next level of chores, don’t forget to grant him or her new privileges. Growing up means having more responsibilities, but it also means gaining new freedoms!
To each their own level, to each their own color

When the time comes to assign chores to your children, it’s important to respect their abilities as well as their level of development in order to make sure that they are capable of successfully completing – and have the motivation to complete – the assigned tasks.
Therefore, our chore magnets are divided into six levels, generally corresponding to a child’s abilities when he or she reaches the suggested age range.
The more children grow, the more they will want to be given complex responsibilities and the more they will enjoy new privileges!
Please note that, as every child develops at their own individual pace, the age range for each level is only provided as a guideline, and so it’s always an option to choose a chore level according to the child’s actual capabilities, regardless of the level’s suggested age.
