Macaroni with meat

This meaty macaroni takes just 15 minutes to make and has bits of carrot and celery hidden inside; a great way to get kids to eat vegetables, much to the delight of parents!

Freeze for three months.

  • Ingredients

    • 450g macaroni
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • 450g ground beef
    • 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
    • 1 cup grated carrots
    • 2 stalks of celery, finely chopped
    • 1 tbsp dried basil
    • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • Preparation

    1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook macaroni according to manufacturer's directions. Drain and set aside.
    2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat the oil and cook the beef and onion for 3 minutes, making sure to crumble it well. Add the grated carrots, chopped celery, dried basil and cook for another 5 minutes.
    3. Add the meat mixture and tomato sauce to the cooked macaroni and mix well.
