Bacon Pinwheels

The perfect appetizer for the holidays or during your festive evenings, these pinwheels made with puff pastry, chives, bacon and Swiss cheese will certainly please your young and old guests, in addition to being easy to freeze so that they can be taken out simply when needed!

  • Ingredients

    • 2 sheets of puff pastry 10 x 10
    • 30 ml (2 tbsp) Dijon mustard
    • 30 ml (2 tbsp) mayonnaise
    • 15 ml (1 tbsp) dried chives
    • 250 ml (1 cup) crumbled cooked bacon
    • 500 ml (2 cups) grated Swiss cheese
  • Preparation

    1. Preheat oven to 400F.
    2. In a bowl, mix the mustard, mayonnaise and dried chives. Brush the 2 doughs with this mixture. Top with bacon and cheese.
    3. Roll the pasta up, making sure to form tight cylinders. Cut into slices about 1 cm thick.
    4. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until pinwheels are golden brown.

Notes and tips

Replace the bacon with about ½ lb (200g) finely chopped smoked meat.

“Ready to receive” tip

This recipe can go straight from the freezer to the oven. Place pinwheels on a baking sheet and reheat in a 350F oven for 20 minutes or until pinwheels are hot and crispy.
